Two of the largest asset managers have been censured for holding stakes in a company accused of facilitating deforestation, as pressure grows on big investors to push companies to commit to clearer environmental goals in the wake of the crisis in the Amazon rainforest. The Amazon has been hit by more than 74,000 wildfires this year, up more than 80 per cent on the same period in 2018.
