As Hurricane Dorian makes its way off the coast of Florida, Orlando’s theme parks are cutting back on their schedules while monitoring the storm. Walt Disney World announced it will close early today, Sept. 3, with its parks shuttering by 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. SeaWorld Orlando and Legoland Florida are closed today, Sept. 3. Universal Orlando Resort’s status remains normal with both its theme parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, open today, but its Volcano Bay water park is closed. Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is closed for both today and tomorrow, Sept. 3-4. The latest reports from the National Hurricane Center and various local meteorologists show the eye of Hurricane Dorian staying out to sea when the storm passes by Central Florida. However, Central Florida — especially the coastal regions — are expected to feel effects of the storm.
