It’s safe to say that Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative division of The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS), has outdone itself with the upcoming Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land in its Hollywood Studios theme park. That ride, which will open on Dec. 5 in Orlando, was one of the focal points of behind-the-scenes tours Walt Disney World provided media during an Aug. 27 preview of Galaxy’s Edge before the land opens to the public on Aug. 29. The Rise of the Resistance ride puts guests in the middle of the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance. Riders have been recruited to bolster the ranks of the Resistance, but find themselves captured by the First Order and its sinister leader, Kylo Ren. Disney shared a peek at the ride vehicles that will transport guests out of Batuu, the planet setting for Galaxy’s Edge.
