Oklahoma Judge Holds Johnson and Johnson ($JNJ) Responsible for Opioid Crisis Fined $572 Million

Johnson and Johnson has been ruled against in a litigation that was overseen by Judge Thad Balkman. Balkman is holding Johnson and Johnson responsible for the state’s opioid crisis.

Johnson and Johnson holds many sources of income from lotions to pharmaceuticals, it’s alleged that Johnson & Johnson’s sales practices created a massive oversupply of opioids that then led to a crisis of addiction.

J&J holds opioids products like Duragesic and Nucynta but denies any involvement in the matter of addiction. It’s estimated to cost the state anywhere from 12 Billion to 17 billion dollars. However Johnson and Johnson were ordered to pay only $572 Million
