The National Women’s Soccer League looks to expand soon, adding new teams over the next couple years, and one of those new franchises could be based in Atlanta, according to a report. Equalizer Soccer’s Jeff Kassouf reported last week that Portland Thorns and Timbers owner Merritt Paulson has “commitments” from three new ownership groups to expand the NWSL. Paulson said that Atlanta United is one of the three teams in the mix.
