In a response to President Trump and his alleged reports to want to purchase Greenland, Greenland Ministry said it was “Open for Business, not for sale.” Denmark had denied purchases in the past and seemingly has no interest in one now.

In an article with WSJ Donald Trump expressed interest in purchasing Greenland as an expansion to the United States, Greenland’s Ministry stated “Greenland is rich in valuable resources such as minerals, the purest water and ice, fish stocks, seafood, renewable energy and is a new frontier for adventure tourism,” the ministry said Friday. “We’re open for business, not for sale.”

“We have a good cooperation with USA, and we see it as an expression of greater interest in investing in our country and the possibilities we offer,” the island’s government said on its website. “Of course, Greenland is not for sale.”

Greenland specifically has large deposits of both coal and uranium. Uranium prices have been in a steady decline since 2007.

The United States has not been outspoken about plans to expand and this has been a new dialogue from President Trump but a serious one too, he has moved forward with draw ups on potential financing and has even put the white house on logistics

The last attempt to purchase Greenland was made in 1946 post WWII for the small price of $100 million for 2.2 million square miles of luscious resources and divine beauty however, and agreement was never reached.

WSJ reporters claim Advisers on the deal claim Trump sees this purchase similar to the 1867 Alaska purchase.
